The Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences, University Ferhat Abbas Setif 1, is organizing a scientific day on the theme:
Circular economy – Valorization of plant waste into innovative health and food products

Objectives:
- To promote a better understanding of the foundations of the circular economy applied to sustainable plant waste recovery.
- To present recent research advances in the extraction, purification, and characterization of bioactive compounds from plant co-products.
- To highlight successful valorization examples in health and agri-food sectors.
Themes:
- Circular economy concepts for vegetables and fruits waste
- Innovative techniques for extracting and purifying bioactive compounds (polyphenols, fibers, essential oils, etc.)
- Valorization of agricultural residues into food and pharmaceutical industry ingredients
- Case studies and industrial recycling successes
