Welcome to the website of the Faculty of Nature and Life Sciences at Ferhat Abbas University Sétif-1. Our faculty is considered one of the most prominent nationally due to its substantial teaching capacity and the wide range of specializations it offers, including ecology, microbiology, biochemistry, agronomic sciences, and biotechnology.
Undergraduate students receive foundational courses in biology during their first and second years, followed by specialized courses in 12 bachelor’s degree specializations. At the postgraduate level, master’s programs are offered in 14 accredited specializations. The bachelor's and master's programs include theoretical courses supported by practical laboratory experiments and fieldwork. Doctoral training is available in numerous disciplines, with plans to expand into other fields directly related to the socio-economic environment.
Advances across all disciplines in life sciences inspire a commitment to continuous development. To support this, the faculty has restructured its research policy by establishing five research laboratories:
- The Laboratory of Phytotherapy for Chronic Diseases,
- The Laboratory for the Improvement and Development of Plant and Animal Productions,
- The Laboratory for the Valorization of Nature Resources,
- The Laboratory of Applied Biochemistry,
- The Laboratory of Applied Microbiology.
Additionally, we are working on creating a new research laboratory dedicated to ecology and the environment.
The faculty boasts an exceptional team of over 200 professors across all ranks. These scientific experts are actively involved in a variety of research projects in addition to their teaching responsibilities. The faculty is also committed to fostering partnerships with the economy and society by signing numerous agreements with public and private institutions. These collaborations have enabled the integration of these organizations into the development of research and teaching programs, the organization of scientific events, and the faculty’s contribution to the economic and social advancement of its community.
